I might have acted a little bit out of enthusiasm when I put the baptise Certificate from William Henderson on the profile. I'm beginning to doubt now, because, as Linda states in 1717 there are 6 persons named William Henderson being baptised in Scotland and which one is the right one.
Also if you look at the baptise certificate from Martinus Henderson (which is 100% confident) it says "Henderson of Oudenaarde educatus in Schotland... which means Henderson from Oudenaarde educated in Scotland. Some people mention on there geanelogic website that "Oudenaarde" or "Audenarde" is a farm near or in Perth, Scotland. I personally find it more logical that Oudenaarde is a town in Belgium. In the old age it was cold "Audenarde" and with a little fantasy it might sound Scottish. Maybe that's why people might think it is a place or farm in Scotland.
Does that mean that William Henderson is born in Oudenaarde? I doubt it, because in the certificate it says "from" Oudenaarde, and that can mean also that he was living ther and moved to Breda where he got married with Janna Maria Borstlap.
You mention in your answer to Linda that you use first hand information from other websites geanet and so on. We both know that unless you support that with documentation it is not very reliable. I am really trying to find out my familytree and support that with the necessary documents. I would like to ask you to do the same, so that we both can be pretty sure that the information we put is accurate
A real genealogist will tell you that if you don't have the documents to prove it, it must be a fairy tail

I included the source as the first line in the "Source" item : "Baptise Certificate obtained from scotlandspeople.uk.gov". This was added 31 Mar 2020 by Servé Doorenbosch jr. A lot of first-hand sources from geneanet.org and myheritage.com point to the same document(s) You may also read the extraordinary work done by Fiona Sinclair in the UK : http://fionamsinclair.co.uk/genealogy/caithness/Nottingham.htm BTW, are you also a descendant of Willam Henderson ? Kind regards, Francis
My question is whether there is another 'primary' source that includes his parents, especially if it is the David and Margaret that are linked to him.
Reviewing Fiona's source that you mentioned, it does not mention any children of David, stating 'subsequent history of his family there is no account', which sounds like he had no children, especially a son, that he could have passed down the 'wadset' to, instead of someone else.
I am not related to this family, just working through some Suggestions on profiles and came across these profiles.
